IPAL will Be Built on Jalan Bangka IX

Cattle rancher on Jalan bangka IX, Bangka Urban Village, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, advised to construct wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) to overcome the animal waste pollution that often complained by surrounding residents.

"We often received the resident's complaint of animal waste on Jalan Bangka IX," told Economy Section Head of South Jakarta Administration, Shita Damayanti, Tuesday (4/28).

Damayanti continued, after mediation with residents, the cattle rancher agreed to build IPAL at the ranch that established since 1970 and has 20 cows in it.

According to her, the construction will be coordinated with South Jakarta Environment Office (KLH) and Jakarta Environmental Management Agency (BPLHD).

Contacted separately, South Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub Department Head, Sri Hartati mentioned, the IPAL construction needs an adequate land to process animal waste into fertilizer, biogas, and clear odorless waste.

"Actually, the problem is due to the narrow area so the management is not optimal and the productive land instead used for people's home," told Hartati.
